Solid shoe - Literally Review by AJ
Value
I have run about 30-40 miles in this shoe now and have found the energy return claims to be true. This shoe feels springy on flat surfaces. It does have a firm midsole which makes it less comfortable on hills, downhill specifically. But on the flat it feels fast and springy. The midsole does feel thick and seems heavy in motion, but isn't so bad to deter me from buying this shoe. As far as sizing goes I might go 1/2 size up to accommodate for a narrow toe box. I wear 9.5 and after some longer runs the tips of my toes are a little sore so I would probably go 10 next time. This shoe holds up extremely well (so far) especially with the new technology and energy return I would expect to get at least 500 miles in the Levitate. Overall I like this shoe and applaud brooks for reaching into the future to make a shoe atypical to their line. I do recommend this shoe for someone looking for a "racing flat" style without wanting a thin midsole. (Posted on 11/16/2017)
Not the best for Marathons Review by Nick
Value
I switched from using the likes of the Launch (5 Marathons), Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Low 2 (1 Marathon), and the Adidas Supernova (3 Marathons) to try this new shoe excited about the described energy return...... The shoe feels heavier when running and the shoe is definitely a firmer run compared to the shoes listed above. I would say this may be a good half marathon and shorter shoe but do not feel confident yet that this is a good distance training or racing shoe. (Posted on 10/26/2017)
Different Review by Nick
Value
I have raced several marathons in the Brooks Launch and a few in the Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Low 2 and the Adidas Supernova (all 10MM drop) and have felt good after finishing. I just did my first marathon in the Levitate and it was definitely heavier and firmer throughout the runner especially the second half. I did not feel the energy return touted in the initial intro to the shoe. I do typically run in 12.5's but Gazelle only offered a 12 or 13 and the 13 felt like a good fit so I went with that and got in some good mileage before the marathon but so far the much more pricey shoe is not beating that of the Launch, Ghost, or the Adidas Supernova. Great quality in the shoe though as expected from Brooks. (Posted on 10/26/2017)
Wow! Review by Lou

Amazing energy return on this new shoe by Brooks. The technology behind ensuring all the bounce you get out of the shoe returns UP back into your foot rather than OUT over the sides of the shoe is very cool. Nice and lightweight with enough substance to rely on for miles. Also the upper is incredibly soft and comfy. A very great ride. (Posted on 10/3/2017)
