Come and RUN FOR THE FARMS and barns at our 8th Annual run/walk fundraiser! Proceeds help preserve over 200 historic buildings and landscapes of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Choose your race between the Farmers Flat and Fast 4 mile, Homesteaders Hillier 5K, and Tiller’s 10K!
Each course winds through the beautiful scenery of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore’s Port Oneida Rural Historic District 3 miles north of Glen Arbor. With its historic farms and barns, Port Oneida is hailed as “one of the most prized historic landscapes in the country”! Afterwards, take a swim on the beautiful beaches down the road! Proud to be part of the Traverse City Track Club’s 2017 Grand Prix Series.

8:15 am Kids Schoolhouse Dash 1/4 mile and awards
8:30 am 10k run starts
8:45 am 5k run/walk starts
4 mile race will start between 8:30 and 8:45
Kids Schoolhouse Dash - 1/4 mile round trip to the Port Oneida schoolhouse and back. Registration $5 on race-day.
Tiller’s 10K – a loop combination of trail running, gravel back roads, and a portion on a firm sandy beach along Lake Michigan! Note: In the event of high waters or piping plover nesting, the course may need to be re-directed off the lakehosre.
Homesteader’s Hillier 5K - flat and rolling loop on the Sleeping Bear Heritage trail and Bayview natural foot trail.
Farmer’s Flat and Fast 4 mile – up and back on the Heritage Trail headed east around N. Unity Log Schoolhouse and Narada Lake. Strollers (this race only) are welcome!
Chip timing by RF Timing. Races start and end at the farm’s big red barn.
Wave start to avoid crowding on the trail. We love animals in the farmyard, but they may not accompany runners on any races and all pets must be on a leash in the farmyard.
Post-race food and unique awards!
Age categories – Awards for overall male and female winners plus top 3 winners in 8 age groups! 12 and under; 13-19,20-29, 30-39, 40-49,50-59, 60-69, 70+
Registration - $30 per person. (Kid’s Schoolhouse Dash – see info above). After August 3rd, price increases by $5. Online registration closes Thurs, August 3rd, 10 pm. Mail in registration by check is available – see our website. day of Walk-ons welcome. There is no separate category for walkers. You must have a parent’s signature on the form if you are under 18. Entries are nonrefundable and nontransferable. The race will take place rain or shine (but not lightening).
Event shirt – guaranteed to the first 200 registrants. Register before July 19 to secure your size. We will have some shirts available at race day – first come first serve.
Packet Pickup – Day prior TBD; packets picked up the day of the race.
