Tri Greenville is an increasingly popular early season, sprint distance triathlon and duathlon around Baldwin Lake in Greenville, Michigan. Greenville is located 35-miles northeast of Grand Rapids. The race features a sprint distance triathlon and duathlon with a team option for the adult race.
There are two youth distances with four prize categories.
Tri Greenville is an excellent beginner event, but with enough challenge for experienced triathletes. Competition has been very good with only one repeat winner over the first four years. The venue features an excellent course with great spectator views.
Exceptional timing services by Epic Race Timing.
The transition is located in the parking lot at the Baldwin Lake Beach. The Beach features a changing room (no shower), portable rest rooms, drinking water, vending and universal access to the water.
The swim course will be well-marked and begins with a mass start from the sandy beach. The swim exit is also at the beach with a very short run into the transition area. Spectators can see the entire course from an elevated position. The depth of the Lake is approximately 15-20 feet and is typically over 70° by race day.
The adult bike course is a well-marked loop with all right turns on a mostly low-traffic open course with few intersections. The terrain is slightly to moderately hilly, with a steep descent near the finish line. The youth course is more flat and generally follows the lakeshore.
The run course is a flat, fast loop along the shore of Baldwin Lake and nearby Manoka Lake. There is a short out-and-back with a bit of hill on the main loop to keep things lively. The Duathlon follows the nearly the same course for both run legs. The run features unimpeded views of the Lake along the waters edge for most of the distance. Spectators can see most of the run loop.
