In Their Words

Meet Alyssa

I've been a part of the West Michigan running community since 2002. I started running in middle school, was a part of my high school cross country and track and field teams, and continued on to compete collegiately (focusing on the 3k steeplechase). I now coach high school runners and run a local run club every Monday night. When it comes to my own running, I am currently focusing on the half marathon and marathon distances.

Alyssa’s 2024-2025 Performance Highlights: Alyssa made a spectacular Gazelle Elite debut at the marathon distance with a PR and 1st place finish of 2:35:37 at the Toledo Glass City Marathon in April 2025, improving by 1:56 from her previous marathon best of 2:37:31. After a long-standing injury sidelined her for much of 2024, Alyssa has fully returned to form and is now looking forward to achieving her full fitness potential for the remainder of 2025.
