Journey to Movement:
8th grade. I'm a skinny kid who wishes he was an athlete. Presidential fitness test in gym class comes along. I work on my push ups and sit ups and will my way to 5 pull ups. I realize I can make up for my lack of strength by running a fast mile. I train for it and score well enough to get the Presidential Fitness Certificate just like all the cool jocks. Sadly the cool jock tossed their certificates in the trash because that's not what makes you cool. I'm still a skinny kid who wishes he was an athlete. Skip ahead 30 years...36 Riverbank Run 25k finishes, 25 marathons, 50k, 100k and 100 mile ultras...still trying to be an athlete. The cool athletes didn't complete past high school.
