Meet the Elite Mile Boys

Andrew Wright

Andrew brings consistent speed and team success to the Elite Mile, highlighted by a 15:00 cross country 5K. He’s also been part of a program that captured four regional championships, proving he knows how to win in big moments.

Baylor Miller

Baylor arrives with championship credentials, placing 6th at the Indiana State Cross Country Meet in 2024 while helping lead his team to 4th overall. He followed it up with a massive track performance, making him one of the out-of-state competitors to watch with 2nd in the 1600 at Indiana State Meet in 4:07.

Beckett Crooks

Beckett enters the Elite Mile as Michigan’s voted Mr. Cross Country this past fall. Last spring, he delivered at the highest level prior by winning the MHSAA Division 1 State Championship in the 3200m, proving his case for a breakout mile this winter.

Brett Magnus

Brett has shown he can close and compete when it counts, winning the 1600 at his regional championship last year. He also capped his season with a PR at MITCA, proving he’s one to trend upward at the right time.

Bryce Gross

Bryce brings a winning background and serious strength, coming off a Division 2 Cross Country State Championship as a team. He’s also a record-setter on the track with a 9:18 3200m school record, making him a threat in the field.

Caden Livermore

Caden brings national-level experience into the Elite Mile, highlighted by placing 38th in the mile at New Balance Outdoor Nationals in 2025. He also earned All-State honors in the 1600 meters this spring with a 4:10, making him a dangerous competitor for this year's starting list.

Ezekiel Baltierra

Ezekiel enters as a proven championship competitor, earning 3x All-State honors in cross country. With experience racing at both Nike and New Balance Track Nationals, he’s comfortable lining up against elite competition.

Gabe Litzner

Gabe brings a winning background into the Elite Mile as a 7-time U.P. champion across cross country and track. With a 4:18 mile to his name, he’s proven he can run with top competition and compete when it matters most.

Ryan Stojov

Ryan’s growth is built on discipline and resilience, staying locked in even when conditions or races don’t go perfectly thus far in his career. With a competitive edge and strong momentum, he’s ready to capitalize on this opportunity.

Gavin Katic

Gavin enters as a sophomore out of Fenton High School with a dominant cross country resume. He swept league, county, and regional titles, then placed 4th at the State Championship while setting a new D2 course record for sophomores and a 15:11 school record.

Kamari Ronfeldt

Kamari enters the Elite Mile as one of Michigan’s top rising talents after finishing 1st at the Division 1 State Cross Country Finals this fall. He backed it up with a 14:43 best at NXR and a 4:16 mile from last spring, making him a major candidate when the pace turns up.

Jackson Lam

Jackson arrives with 4:13 in the 1600, breaking one of the oldest school records in his school’s history. He’s also a back-to-back individual regional champion in cross country, showing he’s built to win across seasons.

Je’Mekhi (Jay) Tally

Jay brings quick-turnover firepower to this year's starting list, helping his squad earn WIAA D1 state runner-up finishes in cross country and track. This past spring he delivered on the track with individual state title wins in the 4x800 and open 800, showing dangerous speed and striving to find his range as he gets ready for the mile now.

Jonah Workman

Jonah comes from a championship program, highlighted by winning a D2 Team State Title in 2021 with East Grand Rapids. He’s also helped drive his team to a 2nd-place state performance this year, and was a part of one of the highest finishes in school history.

Lucas Ballard

Lucas enters with a season full of statement races, including a 4:17.79 1600 PR and school record in brutal weather conditions. He also won the UP Finals 800 in 1:58.07 while battling pneumonia, showing toughness and elite speed.

Luka Hammond

Luka is one of the most proven milers in the field, winning the 2025 D1 State Championship in the 1600, running a 4:09 that year. He also helped lead his team to a 3rd-place finish at the D1 State Championships, bringing championship confidence into this race.

Marek Butkiewicz

Marek brings an elite range highlighted by a 9:05 3200 PR and a 14:59 cross country PR. His consistency and strength make him a dangerous competitor if the pace gets honest.

Thomas Larson

Thomas brings a proven winning background, including an individual cross country regional championship. He’s also been a key part of a dominant team run, contributing to conference and regional team titles three straight years (2023–2025).
